Our News The European Court has declared admissible the Case of Sargsyan v Azerbaijan Case of Sargsyan v Azerbaijan (No. 40167/06) will be heard at the Grand ChamberOn 15 September 2010 the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) will hold a public hearing on the case of Sargsyan v. Azerbaijan (No. 40167/06). The case was submitted to the ECtHR by “Legal Guide” NGO on 11 August 2006. On 11 March 2010 the Chamber decided to relinquish jurisdiction in favour of the Grand Chamber in accordance with Article 30 of the Convention. This happens where a case pending before a Chamber raises a serious question affecting the interpretation of the Convention or the protocols thereto, or where the resolution of a question before the Chamber might have a result inconsistent with a judgment previously delivered by the Court. The public hearing on this case will start at 2:30 p.m. on September 15 (French time) and it could be followed live on the Court’s website: www.echr.coe.int/echr
