Legal Guide and YFA completed the 2010 “Interactive Human Rights” European Law Mooting Competition

On 17-19 February 2010 the final round of the “Interactive Human Rights” European Law Mooting Competition (Competition) was held. The Competition has been organized with the financial support of the European Union for the third time this year. The previous competitions were held on 2004-2005 and 2007-2008. The Competition aims at assisting to promote the knowledge and understanding of undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate students majoring in law, international relations, international law, political science and history on the European protection mechanisms of human rights. The Competition gives an opportunity to students to be involved in mooting of a hypothetical case before the European Court of Human Rights. Legal Guide is responsible for developing the hypothetical cases of the Competition. Each time the cases are developed with consideration of timely issues and/or most frequently violated human rights and/or freedoms in the Republic of Armenia. The hypothetical case of the 2010 Competition was focused on the freedom of religion; right to a fair trial and the prohibition of discrimination. For more information about the Competition please go to the official website of “Interactive Human Rights” Project at www.interactivehr.am The Armenian versions of all three hypothetical cases of the Competition are available to download here.
